Internet Security Tool Kit
- The Internet Security Tool Kit Demo is fully
functional. It was originally available on CD or
on subscription basis
via a desktop interface that communicated with a secure internet server.
- Please keep in mind that this is a 2002 -
2005 era product which is now out of date and not supported.
Nevertheless, virtually all of the tests will work on your PC computer and
provide useful information about your computer and network security - and
most of the security basics are still sound advice.
- You don't hear much about computer security
issues in public press these days. That's because the guys and gals in black hats
have found that its much more profitable to sneak into your system and steal
your ID than to format your hard drive or cause system wide breakdowns.
You can be sure that they're still out there creating serious challenges for anyone who dares to surf the internet.
In fact, at
the moment they may be winning the silent battle for your computer.
- The guys in
white hats are still creating new solutions and fixes so hope is not lost.
Microsoft and many other software publishes have a new "security focus" with
their new products but as I pointed out in the Tool Kit - its really up to
you to make sure your computer and network are secure.
